Comic Mischief: GamerDad helped Scooby & Shaggy play all sorts of tricks to trip up ghosts.

The first thing my kids said when I showed them Scooby-Doo! Who's Watching Who? was "this looks like that Scooby-Doo game we rented for the GameCube a while ago. (which was Mystery Mayhem) That is true, meaning it looks pretty good for a DS game - but this game is much more entertaining and varies than the former lackluster affair. In fact, even without the license this would be a solid effort, offering fun 3D platforming as well as mini-games and other diversions.

You play as Scooby-Doo and need to work your way through several mysteries along with a modern TV crime solving group called G.S.I. The mysteries play out much like they do on the cartoon shows, with exploration, clue collection and analysis, chases and eventual unmasking of the fake ghost. This repeats for the several mysteries and could easily have been completely boring - except that everything is well designed and executed. The levels are fun to explore and figure out the best way through, and the chases vary enough to keep them fresh. It is one of those games that seems formulaic and predictable but is just so much solid fun that you end up having a great time and being disappointed when it is done.

Click to learn more about GamerDad's Kid Factor review section. Scooby-Doo is at once a classic cartoon icon and someone that kids continue to grow up with because of a continuing stream of enjoyable full-length animated features and the forgettable live action movies. The themes in all of those are working together and never letting differences stand in the way of friendship ... and loads of silliness and accidental sleuth work along the way! There is nothing inappropriate or even questionable here - unless you have an issue with Shaggy being hungry all the time, or read entirely too much into *why* he is hungry all the time. Kids love Scooby and the gang, and this game does an excellent job of playing them up in a charming and fun way that will have you and your kids laughing along together.

Other Platforms:
DS: Looks great, nice use of both screens and touch controls. The better version.
PSP: Solid game, looks excellent, but load times and controls hamper the fun.
