The ESRB says:
Fantasy Violence The girls use magical attacks as seen on the cartoon show. Winx Club is a Saturday morning cartoon about the adventures of a group of teen girls who learn spells at a magical fairy academy. Now you can relive all the antics and adventures on your PlayStation Portable with Winx: Join the Club. Pick your favorite Winx fairy girl and play arcade style mini-game challenges based on antics from the cartoon show. Snowboard down sandy hills to catch up with friends. Guide your fairy through a maze to find all the pixies. Or play knock-offs of classic puzzle games like Zuma or Magical Drop, but with a dash of Winx flair. These and many more mini-challenges await you. Earn coins from playing mini-games to unlock outfits for your fairy, songs, videos, and other goodies. Trade outfits and treats with friends who also have a PSP and a copy of Winx: Join the Club, or go head to head in multiplayer mini-games. Graphics capture the feel of the animated show. However, the music, which is all vocal tunes presumably from the cartoon, is nothing but singing about how cool it is to be a girl and hang out with other girls and go dancing with all the boys. It's enough to make even the girliest of girls cringe after a while. The worst part about Winx on PSP are the long loading times. The game takes three to four minutes to load before every mini-game, then more loading after the mini-game is finished, then more after the results screen, and then more loading before going back to the hub world. You spend more time on loading screens then actually playing the game. This ruins what might've been a somewhat fun game for Winx fans. ![]()
Fantasy violence in this game is no worse than what is in the cartoon show. Reading skill is helpful because all the in-game instructions are written text, but most of the games themselves are easy to figure out. But even the most die-hard Winx fan will get bored after a few long loading time sessions.
