When you do something that works, the best way to follow it up is to enhance what didn't work so well and not mess with what did work. Or at least not mess with the working formula at all and deliver new content. That seems to be the approach used for the PC and console versions of the sequel to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - they each take best what worked and focus on that, delivering a solid tactical shooter experience across all platforms.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (aka GRAW2) picks up after the original game ends - and drops you right back into the hot-bed of unrest in Mexico. A civil war has erupted and the US and Mexican government are embroiled trying to contain the struggle as threats of possible nuclear weapons and of the conflict spilling over into the US notch up the intensity even higher than the original. The tactical action is even more deeply ingrained than before with improved squad commands and communication as well as better control over the drone. The action takes place over a wider theater of operations, allowing more settings for battles.

It has only been a year since the original GRAW came out to acclaim across multiple platforms, which doesn't allow tons of time to make major changes in the game. The game has definitely been optimized for performance and the new settings allow for some nice tactical play. However, the single player campaign is noticeably shorter than before - fortunately the enhancements to multiplayer make up for that loss. However you play, there is something fun awaiting you in the new addition to theGhost Recon franchise.

The fundamental motivation of this game is around you using the squad to eliminate and surpress insurgents involved in the spreading civil war. The violence is intense, realistic and brutal. You are in constant peril and also responsible for keeping your squad-mates out of harm's way. The intensity seldom slackens, and the feeling of being part of a terrible regional tragedy that seems to be on the brink of exploding at any point. The intensity and realism throughout mark this as a game for older teens and adults.
