Fantasy Violence: GamerDad made spaceships shoot and blow up other spaceships. People piloting ships would die, but no grisly death scenes are shown.
Mild Language: A 'damn' or 'hell' is sometimes heard on the battlefield or in cutscenes.
Mild Blood: The small bit of blood in cutscenes look more like dirty bruises.
Mild Suggestive Themes: In some of the cutscenes, one of the female officers looks like she forgot to zip up the front part of her uniform all the way.
Use of Alcohol: Again, only in the cutscenes. Nothing worse than sci-fi on TV.

Project Sylpheed is a space flight combat simulation game for the Xbox 360. The storyline, told in CG cutscenes, is pretty much the same stock you'd see in sci-fi TV shows like Battlestar Galactica or Babylon 5. But the meat of the game is nothing but pure spaceship dogfighting.

Typical of other flight combat games, pilot your spacecraft and perform maneuvers to evade missiles while firing your own to take down the enemy craft. Take on missions to destroy other spacecraft and protect cargo ships. Between missions, buy new weapons for your ship and develop new ones by combining existing weapons.

Visuals and audio are decent, but with all the chaos on screen and the multitude of heads-up displays on screen, it can be a little hectic to see what's going on. And even with the thorough tutorials that explain every aspect of flight and combat, Project Sylpheed's missions are still pretty challenging and arduous, even on the easiest difficulty selection. And the controls, which use every single button on the 360 controller, will take a little getting used to. Plus there's a missed opportunity with no online play. But experienced gamers who enjoy flight combat games like Wing Commander and Ace Combat will probably want to blast off with Project Sylpheed.

The only violence in the actual game are spaceships shooting and blowing up other spaceships, and an occasional curse word every now and then. Because of the high difficulty, Project Sylpheed is best for older kid gamers who are highly experienced in playing flight combat games.
