Those popular toy fashions dolls are back in a new Bratz game. In Bratz: The Movie for GBA, join the Bratz gang as they attend a special summer school for kids gifted in performance arts. Talk to friends on campus, hang out, play mini-games, and make the scene.
In each chapter, you must walk around the school in a 2-D top-down fashion. Usually by talking to the right person or entering the right room, you'll trigger a mini-game that you must complete to get to the next chapter. Play memory matching, help a Bratz girl make it to her class on time by running and jumping over obstacles, or practice dance moves or piano playing in music/rhythm challenges.
Unfortunately, Bratz: The Movie on GBA is just plain awful. Graphics are hideous, and whoever thought that yellow text on a purple background would be easy to read is nuts. The mini-games are also not any fun. The running challenge to get a Bratz to class without being late never ends until you crash three times (just not too soon). And the music and rhythm games do not give very good cues on when to push the buttons in time. Worse yet, there is no save feature, instead, players use passwords to continue where you left off. A big no-no in a portable game. Best to avoid this Bratz title entirely.
Reading skill is required to tell what drivel the Bratz are saying to each other, though the text is still pretty hard to read. Kids will probably get bored and/or frustrated at the mini-games pretty quickly, even if they are big Bratz fans. It's probably best to get them a Bratz doll instead, or better yet, another toy entirely.
