The ESRB says:
Mild Cartoon Violence: GamerDad made a heroic water droplet bounce into shadowy yet silly enemies. Once upon a time, there was a tree of seven colors that gave life to the world. But one day, menacing black water came raining down, and a villain threatened the land. The magical tree used its last ounce of strength to summon Dewy, a heroic drop of pure water to purify the land and fight back the evil black water. In Dewy's Adventure for the Nintendo Wii, players guide Dewy through obstacle-filled worlds simply by tilting the remote around. By leaning the remote, the whole world tilts on screen and Dewy slides down, similar to games like Marble Madness and Super Monkey Ball. Players hold the Wii remote sideways, like a controller, and they can also cause earthquakes or make the wind blow by shaking the Wii remote side to side or up and down. Dewy can jump and attack by pressing the 1 and 2 buttons. Players can also raise and lower the temperature with the D-pad, and since Dewy is a drop of water, he'll change accordingly. Change to cold and Dewy turns into Ice Dewy, who has strong attacks and can skate on frozen ponds. Heat up the place and he'll turn into Mist Dewy, who can summon forth a lightning storm to stun and defeat enemies. Regular Water Dewy is the best jumper. Use all of Dewy's skills to fight enemies, solve puzzles, and defeat bosses. Graphics and sound are as cute and cheerful as Dewy himself, who makes an adorable little sigh when he falls off a cliff. Players can also design levels for Dewy to roll around in, and if you have WiiConnect24 set up over wireless Internet, you can show off your levels and screenshots to people in your Wii friends list. The only problems with Dewy's Adventure is the game is a bit short. And while play control is mostly solid, it's sometimes hard to make precision jumps and landings while tilting Dewy's world around. But other than that, Dewy's Adventure is a pretty solid little Wii game that's worth at least a rental. ![]()
Kids will love the cute characters and simple gameplay of Dewy's Adventure. There's hardly any violence. Dewy just bops silly enemies or zaps them with lightning. Reading skill is helpful for instructions, but most young ones will be able to figure most everything out with maybe a little help from an older player. Younger gamers also might get frustrated at the controls because of all the precision tilting and jumping. But other than that, Dewy's Adventure is a fun little game for the whole family.
