Rockstar's awesome Ping Pong simulations leaps from the 360 to Wii-control. Is it perfect for people who can't fit a table in their house? Ohhh yes!

Rockstar Games is infamous for making the kind of ultra violent videogames that cause politicians and parents groups to complain loudly, that's why it came as a surprise when they decided to follow up their depraved Grand Theft Auto and murderous Manhunt series with . . . Ping Pong?

It's true, Rockstar Presents: Table Tennis is an extremely well crafted, perfectly made, and accurate simulation of Ping Pong, bringing the video game hobby full circle, back to one of the first games ever made, Pong. Ping Pong is a series sport in Europe and Asia and a few seconds watching the pros play the game will convince people that this isn't some casual or parlor game. These players, men and women from a handful of countries, are athletes with powerful returns, tremendous speed, and unbelievable accuracy. Rockstar's game features exhibition, tournaments, unlockable outfits and equipment, and a superb physics engine devoted to making sure that little white ball does the things it would do in real life.

On the Xbox 360 it features gorgeous graphics and robust multiplayer over Xbox Live. The newest version is for the Wii and we're happy to report that the game's challenge and brilliance came over even if the graphics had to be downgraded for Nintendo's less powerful and non-HD system. But using the Wii remote to swing your paddle (two other swing options are available, including the standard gamepad configuration for the Xbox 360) is terrific fun. Playing against a friend in co-op is a blast since skill, not luck, matters most but there's no Internet play, which is a shame.

Don't have room for a Ping Pong table or can't afford one? Pick up Rockstar's Table Tennis for the most accurate and evolved version of Pong you'll ever play!

Instead you're part of an ultra serious and realistic tournament. This is a great way to show kids there's more to sports than Football, Basketball, and Baseball and it'll give you a reason to stop channel flipping when you see Ping Pong coverage on ESPN 2. Challenging your kids is a great way to get off the couch and get some family trash talking going.
