The ESRB says:
Mild Cartoon Violence: GamerDad bopped silly alligators on the head, shot colorful alien bugs, and other arcade acts of cartoony violence. Next time, don't bring the family to a museum; bring the museum home with a game that has something for everyone. Namco Museum Remix for the Nintendo Wii has five remixed classic arcade games that make use of the Wii controller features, as well as nine classic Namco arcade titles. The menu interface is fun and interactive as you roll Pac-Man around the various games. Each of the remixed games has Pac-Man in them in some way, too, as well as colorful, 3- D graphics. In Galaga Remix, aim the Wii remote at the screen and shoot alien Galaga bugs while protecting Pac-Man, who rolls around a little half pipe in outer space. Drive Pac-Man in a race car around a maze, collecting flags while avoiding other cars in Rally-X Remix. In Pac-Motos, bump enemies off the edge of the playfield while avoiding getting knocked off yourself. Swing the Wii remote to bonk silly alligators in Gator Panic Remix, based on the popular 'whack a mole' style arcade game. And finally, while it may not be as innovative as rolling around Pac-Man with the stylus in the original Nintendo DS game, Pac N Roll Remix has you rolling a ball-shaped Pac-Man around worlds, eating dots and chasing ghosts while avoiding obstacles and pits. Namco Museum Remix also has a selection of nine classic arcade games you can play in their original format. These range from more popular, well-known games like Dig Dug, Galaxian,, and Xevious, to more eclectic rare games like Super Pac-Man, Pac & Pal, and the BreatOut-like Cutie-Q. This collection probably could have benefited more with a wider selection of well-known arcade games like Ms. Pac-Man. Play control in nearly all the games is easy to learn and responsive, and you can even opt to use the Wii Classic Controller for the nine arcade titles. The only problem is that steering the Rally-X car is kind of slippery sometimes. Most of the remixed titles have multiplayer modes as well. Fans of classic arcade gameplay will definitely want to pay a visit to this Namco Museum. To read more about the games in Namco Museum Remix, click here. ![]()
Kids will like the easy to understand gameplay of Namco Museum Remix, but some may get frustrated at the arcade-style difficulty. The multiplayer modes are great for family gaming, and violence is only minimal and reserved for silly antics like bonking cartoon alligators or shooting colorful alien bugs. Best for families who like gaming classics.
