Blood: GamerDad saw minor blood spatter when injuring enemies.
Fantasy Violence: Turn-based battles on a grid are the focus of the game.
Mild Language: Typical mild language usage such as 'hell' and 'damn'.
Suggestive Themes: Some minor flirting during cutscenes.

This was not a particularly graceful re-entry for the Heroes of Might & Magic franchise - beta tests showed massive problems and required large changes and optimization. By the time the game arrived many had already written it off - that is too bad because it is a solid fantasy turn-based strategy game with a solid combat system and some interesting characters and missions to explore.

The game world is now realized in full 3D (perhaps that is a hint at how long it has been gone) and looks great. There are six single player campaigns, each comprising many missions - there is a load of gaming here! You build up your army by recruiting or hiring, outfit everyone, and move around the world looking for problems to solve or enemies to vanquish. When you find them you drop into a grid-based combat system that is graphically nice to watch as your troops battle it out against enemy units. The multiplayer is forgettable and there are issues with the sound, and the game shipped with too many bugs and missing features, but it is a solid strategy game that offers many hours of challenging and fun play for fans of the genre.

KF: The overall content in Heroes of Might & Magic V is actually quite mild - the turn-based combat is like 'live action chess', and there is nondescript blood spray during battles. The minor language and innocent flirting and suggestive elements in cutscenes are also nothing beyond what kids see on Disney and Nick shows aimed at 'tweens'. The combination of all of these earned the game a T rating, and I am leaving the GamerDad Age Seal as 14+ with the big caveat that younger kids can likely handle this - especially if you work with them.
