Ask GamerDad? 2/15/08

This didn’t quite come out the way I planned. It was all very last minute really. I had surgery last week, so I didn’t have time to tackle any of the questions I normally would – no time for research, see. Then Linda phoned from work and inspired this whole thing that begins by wrapping up that terrible event (I will stop talking about it one day) and ends with me recommending WiiFit and exergaming. It’s also a Valentine’s Day issue. So click here to read Ask GamerDad at WhatTheyPlay.com!

Did someone really say such an awful thing on a message board about you? What a mean thing to say about you. –Cary

Cary – you should have seen some of the stuff people said about him back in the ‘Beatdown’ days …

A thin skin is absolutely necessary in any field where kids aged 13-60 are able to – unlike their targets – remain anonymous.

True. But a THICK skin is even better!
Time for bed now.

Oh I have a thick skin, too. It doesn’t bother me if someone says something bad about me. But for some reason, I can’t stand it when someone says something bad about someone else I know. –Cary

I liked your response to the question. It gets pretty cold up here in Edmonton, although there are plenty of outdoor activities for the kids to enjoy in the cold (Edmonton is great for outdoor stuff) like skating, snowboarding, skiing etc, it’s great that we have other options on the consoles for the times they want to be indoors.
As I mentioned a while back on the GD message boards, a couple of my female friends have recently bought the Wii in preparation for Wii Fit coming out.
I just chatted with one of them yesterday, she is currently working Wii tennis into her weight loss plan, and having worn a heart monitor during play, she has found that she reaches her target heart rate for about half of the time, which is pretty good for something that is (for some of us at least) a fair bit more entertaining than just going through the motions on the elliptical.
