Um… notice anything different? Hint: Look at the URL. Yeah, I changed it. We’re changing focus is the short of it. The long of it? Well, to be blunt it happened because I had quadruple bypass surgery. Prior to that I decided what we oughta do here is reach out to all gamers, try to be cool and maybe even try to turn my career back toward my ultra-hardcore roots (hey, I wrote for Online Gaming Review and freakin’ GamePen back in the day). It just so happened I gave a one hour speech at the Penny Arcade Expo in August called “GameSanity”, and the success of that speech made me think that what I wanted to do was run a blog called “GameSanity” – silly, huh?

Not really. The blog was quite popular. I’m sorry to cut it loose. The good news is, not much is changing. More kid related stories seems likely. Look, I’m GamerDad, that’s my destiny. I don’t want to expand my career and I don’t want to go backwards in my career. I want to talk about family. The things I’m passionate about. Then Linda and I were deluged with support from strangers. GamerParents came out of the woodwork, gave generously, told me “keep at it” said I was “needed” and proved to me that “Gaming with Children” is my mission. Expanding to the hardcore isn’t the answer!

That’s why you’re going to need to change your bookmark. Expect the same sort of blog you’ve been reading here for the past 2 months. We’re still all about the GameSanity here. But also expect something that a massive archive and primer like GamerDad.com can’t offer and that’s … us. We’re parents, we have little brothers, we play video games with our kids. We’re experts and our numbers are growing.
