Child’s Play 2007

cp_nodate.gifI can’t believe I let this slip my mind. GamerDad’s favorite charity is run by the “not safe for kids” webcomic Penny Arcade. It’s brilliant and it works like this: You buy something from Amazon and specify which Children’s Hospital you’d like it to go it. The item arrives at the hospital and is used to help kids deal with the stress and anxiety of surgery. They’re at $974,000 and change. They broke a million last year, I’d like to see GamerDad.com and GamingWithChildren’s audiences to help them do that again. Do it for the children! More info here.

  1. I love the idea, but one thing troubles me — isn’t Amazon making a killing on this? I mean, they list everything at retail price, we pay retail for something I could personally buy cheaper elsewhere… who gets the difference? I assume it’s Amazon, which just doesn’t seem right…
