Moe Waifu H Fantasy (PS4, PS5, Switch)
I don’t know what the “Moe” means, but isn’t Waifu what you connect your internet up to? Just kidding! I’m not that out of touch. I think Waifu means like a pretend girlfriend or something. Anyway, this game is a simple music rhythm game where you press buttons in time to the music while being accompanied by pretty anime ladies. It’s available on current PlayStation consoles and Switch, but reviewed on PS4 here.
In each stage, four icons will pass by from left to right on the screen, and when they pass over a circle on the right side, you must press the corresponding button. You only use the shoulder and trigger buttons, and if you look carefully, the icons will show which one you need to press (L1, R1, L2, and R2). If you can complete the song, you’ll pass the level and unlock an outfit for an anime lady to wear that you can view in a gallery.
I really didn’t like this game that much, though. The music wasn’t that interesting, I wish you could’ve selected more intuitive buttons to press other than the shoulder ones, and if you make too many mistakes, they stop the song completely and it’s Game Over. I hate it when music rhythm games do that. I’d rather just go play Theatrhythm Final Fantasy instead.
Kid Factor:
Moe Waifu H Fantasy is rated T for Teen with an ESRB descriptor of Suggestive Themes. Some of the anime ladies wear skimpy outfits and that’s it. Reading skill is helpful for the text, and younger gamers may find it too difficult.
