100 in 1 Games Collection (Switch)
Play 100 different mini-games on your Switch with 100 in 1 Games Collection. You can only play Story Mode where you challenge each game one at a time. Depending on how well you score, you can earn up to three stars in each game. You must get at least one star to progress to the next game. Each group of games is categorized on certain islands, but they don’t really have much rhyme or reason. In order to unlock the next set of mini games on an island, you must have a certain number of stars collected.
The mini-games range from simple fare based on classic arcade games like Asteroids, to stuff you’d find on PopCap games such as Zuma, or things no more complicated than a Game & Watch handheld. Unfortunately, this collection goes for quantity, not quality, as none of the games are very good. I wish there were a mode where you can select all the games from a menu, not just having to unlock them one by one. Some games let you play multiplayer at least. There are instructions for each game before you start, but sometimes they’re not very clear. Since you must collect at least one star before progressing, I got a little over halfway through the games before I got stuck.
Kid Factor:
100 in 1 Games Collection is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence. You can hit cartoony characters and spaceships but they just disappear or explode when defeated. Reading skill is helpful for the instructions, but I can’t imagine this holding a younger gamer’s interest for very long. Get a collection of classic 80s arcade games instead.
