Pac-Man: The Official Cookbook
Recently a cookbook featuring Pac-Man was released. You know me, the biggest Pac-Man fan around, I had to have it. So let’s take a look inside and see what it’s like!
Here’s a bigger picture of the front of the book. It’s a nice hardcover one.
And here’s the back cover of the book
The recipes in the book are categorized by breakfast, sides, main dishes, drinks, and desserts. Let’s look at a few of the pages. I won’t show you EVERYTHING, just the ones that were notable to me.
A lot of the foods around just round things with a wedge cut out to look like Pac-Man. Like this cheese ball.
Of course they had to have a pizza in there.
These ghost cake pops look cool.
OK I have to admit, this one’s pretty creative. It’s just deviled eggs, but they dyed the yellow part blue and called it ‘ghost eyes!’
Here’s some kind of cherry pie thing.
A lot of the recipes involve fruit or the other bonus items. Here’s a fruit salad. They also had stuffed bell peppers since one of the bonus items is a bell! And another was soft pretzels like in Ms. Pac-Man.
It’s just a decorated sheet cake, but if I were a little kid I would want this for my birthday cake. Actually when I was a little kid, I think I had about three Pac-Man birthday cakes and parties over the years.
This really doesn’t have much to do with Pac-Man, but I do like how they used the toppings as eyes in the tomato soup.
So this brings me to one of my major complaints about this cookbook. Most of the recipes have nothing to do with Pac-Man. Like this hamburger. I GUESS you could say that Pac-Man eats hamburgers in the fourth stage of Super Pac-Man, but I don’t think this book goes that deep. There are so many other recipes like this, too. Almost the whole book!
And who really needs a cookbook to make popcorn anyway?
And that’s really about it. I was ultimately disappointed with this one since so many recipes had nothing to do with Pac-Man and the book was 30 bucks. I will say it’s a good thing this cookbook didn’t come out when I was a little kid back in the 80s or I’d be making my mom help me make every recipe in there! Anyway, that’s all for now, later! –Cary
