Fruitbus (Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, X/S, PC)

In a world full of talking, anthropomorphic animals, your grandma owns a food truck that serves fruit salads.  When she retires, she wants to have a party and invite all her friends.  So you must use the Fruitbus to drive all over the island and serve fruit salads to customers and convince her friends and family to come to her retirement party in this food truck simulation game.  Fruitbus is available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.

In the game, you view the action in a first person perspective and look around via a cursor.  Use the L and R buttons to pick up things like fruit, and tools to use on them like a knife for chopping.  If you want to drive your truck around, hop in the driver’s seat and use the L and R buttons to start the engine and the L stick to steer and R trigger for gas.  When you see customers, just stop and raise the window and chime the bell, and take orders for the hungry folks.  You can also get out of the truck and talk to people, too.

Unfortunately, the game is extremely buggy and the driving controls suck.  You can easily get your bus stuck by driving, so much so that there is a menu option for getting unstuck.  But when you do that, you have to start over at the last place you started from, and that gets annoying.  It’s a shame because the rest of the game is so charming and reminds me of the Bluey cartoon.

Kid  Factor:

Nothing violent or objectionable here.  Reading skill is needed for the text, though.  Fruitbus is rated E for Everyone.
