Shoot wave after wave of bad guys in 2D retro style arenas in Redex.  It’s available on all current consoles but reviewed on PS4 here.

You start out by picking a location and which weapon to use.  Then you shoot wave after wave of bad guys and when you get far enough, you’ll unlock more characters, weapons, and stages to play on.  The problem is that the controls make this one nigh impossible.  You move with the L stick, jump with the L2 button, aim with the R stick and fire with the R2 button.  And enemies are bullet sponges, too.  Because of all that, I lost interest in this one pretty quickly.

Kid Factor:

Redex is rated E-10 with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Violence.  You shoot pixelly soldiers that fall over and disappear when defeated.  Reading skill is helpful for the text, and younger gamers may have trouble with the controls.
