This is a typical vertically scrolling bullet hell shooter with pixel graphics.  StarLightRiders: HyperJump is available on all current consoles, but reviewed on PS4 here.

Controls are simple, just move with the L stick and fire with the button.  Another button will clear out all bullets in front of you but you have limited use of that.  Dodge bullets, but collect the little blue rectangles for points.  Shoot everything else that moves and defeat the boss to move onto the next level.  If you get hit too many times, you’ll lose a life.  Lose all your lives and it’s Game Over.  I like how you can select which level to play (5 in all), but you don’t get any continues.  If you did, I think I’d like this game more.

Kid Factor:

StarLightRiders: HyperJump is rated E-10 with ESRB descriptors of Fantasy Violence and Mild Language.  I didn’t notice any bad language, and you just shoot spaceships that explode when defeated.  Reading skill isn’t needed but younger gamers may find it too difficult.
