Super Mario Galaxy Movie Happy Meals
McDonald’s is doing Super Mario Galaxy Movie toys in their Happy Meals this month I got a few of them, so let’s take a look!
After all these years, it’s nice to know that McDonald’s is still using the Happy Meal boxes with the golden arch handles! Here’s a bigger picture of the one with Mario on the box.
They had other characters, too. Here’s one with Yoshi.
And finally one with Princess Peach. What is with that expression on her face?
Even the apple slice packets had Mario characters on them. Here’s Mario.
And here’s Yoshi.
This is the display at the McDonald’s with all the toys.
The toys come in these cute little Question Block boxes. Which one will you get?
Here are the ones I’ve gotten so far. There’s Mario, Fire Mario, Frog Suit Luigi, and Wonder Bowser Jr. A relative of mine got me Peach, but I haven’t seen her yet as of this writing, so I don’t have a picture of that one. I hope I get Toad, as he’s my favorite Mario character.
One neat thing you can do with the toys is flip the bottom star shaped stand on its side, and then rotate it around and make it be a keychain clip thing. Very functional. I could see McDonald’s using this idea for future toys.
I did see the Mario Galaxy movie with my brother at one of those movie theaters where they serve food while you watch the movie. The one we went to was called Studio Movie Grill and they had a special Mario Galaxy themed menu. Most of it was kids meal stuff and drinks, but we did get the “Meteor” (Meatier) Pepperoni Pizza and Loaded Comet Bites (which were just cheesy tots).
So what did I think of the movie? Well I did have fun as it was a great looking movie visually and the music was also top notch. It had a lot of fun references and easter eggs and moved at a brisk pace. But I can certainly understand why critics may have not liked it. There was no plot or character development. My personal problem with the movie is one I have with a lot of movies: they showed way too much in the trailers. I felt like I had seen 75 percent of the movie already. I’d say this movie is only good if you are a huge Mario fan or have kids with very short attention spans. And maybe try and see this movie at a discounted price at a matinee or something. Movies at full price are way too expensive nowadays. Anyway, that’s all for now! Later! –Cary
