BlizCon 2011 – KidReport

Just a few short weeks ago, we sent our kid reporter on the scene (well, teenager now) to make his annual pilgrimage to BlizzCon (with his mom, of course).  Here’s what he thought of the action…

On October 21-22, 2011, Anaheim, California was flooded with Blizzard fanatics from around the world, there to see Blizzard’s world renowned convention: BlizzCon! Every year thousands of people around the globe gather in the Anaheim Convention Center for a sneak peak at what Blizzard is engaged in at the time, complete with panels, demos, and free stuff. I was among the crowd, weaving my way through the masses, toward the convention center, speculating about the new World of Warcraft expansion that I had heard nothing about yet.

Game Review: Centipede: Infestation (Wii, 3DS)

When I was a little kid back in the 80’s, going to an arcade was a family event. My mom would hop on over to the Frogger machine, and I could be found over by Pac-Man of course. But my dad’s favorite was Centipede, and he’d always make a beeline for it (pun intended). Now a new generation of gamers can blast hordes of bugs with Centipede: Infestation for Wii and 3DS (Wii version reviewed here).

Game Review: Michael Phelps: Push the Limit (Xbox 360 Kinect)

Dive right into what may be the world’s first swimming video game. And no, the water levels in Mario games don’t count. Actually there was an old 80’s arcade game called “Swimmer” so I guess it’s not the very first. Anyway, use your whole body to swim in Olympic style races with Michael Phelps: Push the Limit for Xbox 360 Kinect.

Game Review: Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster (Xbox 360 Kinect)

Game Review: Hulk Hogan’s Main Event (Xbox 360 Kinect)

Hulk Hogan’s Main Event is a different kind of wrestling game. It’s more about the showboating antics that go on during TV wrestling matches. Use your arms, legs, and whole body to perform entrance poses, dodge attacks, and pin down opponents!

Game Review: Mercury Hg (Xbox LIVE, PSN)

You may have seen or played Mercury when it sloshed onto the PSP or Wii, but now it’s oozing into HD with Mercury Hg on Xbox Live and PSN. This action puzzler plays a lot like other ‘tilt the ball around a maze’ games like Marble Madness, Super Monkey Ball, or Xbox LIVE’s classic Marble Blast Ultra. (360 version reviewed here)
