Game Review: Supremacy MMA (Xbox 360, PS3)
Supremacy MMA is a one-on-one mixed martial arts fighting game. Even though it’s an arcade style pick up and play kind of game, the fighting styles, moves and even injuries are realistic. Play as one of a handful of real and fictional fighters, each with their own styles from boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and others as you rise the ranks to the top (Xbox 360 version reviewed here).
Kirby’s Massive Mini-Game Attack!
You’ve probably read reviews already about Kirby Mass Attack. So you know that it’s a fantastic game and an original concept where you use the stylus and touch screen to guide a mob of Kirbys through 2-D levels. So I decided to do something a little different in my review and focus on the mini-games you can unlock while playing Kirby Mass Attack, because several of them are more fleshed out than past Kirby mini-games. Plus, I just like mini-games anyway. Slight spoiler warning here, too, I guess.
Game Review: Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures (DS)
Video gaming’s most famous mother, Cooking Mama, has done such a good job cooking, gardening, crafting, and babysitting (all games in the series), that Papa has decided she needs a vacation. Join Mama and Papa for more touch screen mini-game fun in the great outdoors with Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures for Nintendo DS.
Game Review: The Gunstringer (Xbox 360 Kinect)
Twisted Pixel is one of my favorite developers of Xbox LIVE downloadable titles. Located in Austin, TX, they’ve made gems like The Maw and Comic Jumper. Now with The Gunstringer, they’ve achieved two firsts. It’s their first Kinect game and their first retail title. In the game, play as a skeleton cowboy as he takes revenge on his posse who turned on him in life. Sounds pretty typical until you realize that the Gunstringer is a marionette puppet and you’re the one controlling his strings!
Game Review: Nicktoons MLB (Wii, DS, Xbox 360)
A roster of real-life MLB All-Stars have teamed up with famous Nicktoons characters for the ultimate baseball crossover extravaganza. Play as your favorite Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob, Ren & Stimpy, Invader ZIM and more! Don’t laugh; Nicktoons MLB is actually one of the better sports games for young sluggers (Xbox 360 version reviewed here).
Game Review: Deca Sports Extreme (3DS)
Game Review: SkyDrift (Xbox LIVE, PSN)
Game Review: BloodRayne: Betrayal (Xbox LIVE, PSN)
Before I start the review of this surprisingly good game, I just have to say one thing. I can’t stand vampires. People who suck blood? That just sounds so gross! I grill my steaks very well done so I don’t see any pink in them, that’s how bad I am. And don’t get me started on stuff like Twilight. Blech! So naturally I don’t enjoy very many vampire video games. So what makes the downloadable BloodRayne: Betrayal special? Why did I like it so much? Well you’ll just have to read the review to find out! SNK Shooter Sensations
3DS Ambassador NES Games
Last week, early adopters of the 3DS got their first taste of the Ambassador Program with ten free NES games. It’s one of the ways that Nintendo rewarded players who bought the 3DS early before the price drop. I downloaded them all so I figured in this blog, I would list them all and share my personal experiences with each one.
