Super Mario Spaghetti-O’s!

MARIO1Look what I found at the store? Super Mario Spaghetti-O’s! You’d think with Mario’s perchance for pasta that they’d have this stuff before now, though. Oh well, at any rate, click here to see pictures and descriptions of the stuff if you’re interested.

On the back of the can, you can see that it comes in six “adventurous” shapes. I don’t know if I’d call any food item ‘adventurous,’ though. The six shapes are Mario, a Goomba, Koopa Shell, Mushroom, Block, and Fire Flower. The noodle shapes actually look like what they’re supposed to, but a Block? Of all the Mario items they could’ve chosen, they picked a Block? One thing to note is that not ALL the pasta is shaped like those items. Most of it is just the classic Spaghetti-O’s rings. I guess it’s why they were probably more eager to make Sonic the Hedgehog Spaghetti-O’s first. “Oh yeah, those are just Sonic’s rings…yeah.”

Another interesting thing to note is that I thought that Spaghetti-O’s were made by Franco-American. But the can says Campbell’s. Guess they bought them out at some point. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve eaten Spaghetti-O’s, though. The only other video game themed Spaghetti-O’s I can remember besides the Sonic one was Pac-Man pasta from Chef Boy-Ar-Dee. Man, I ate tons of that Pac-Man pasta as a kid. If you do a search on YouTube, you can even find the commercial for that stuff! What other kinds of video game characters would you like to see in pasta form? How about Zelda, Pokemon, Mega Man, or Kirby pasta?
