8-bit Christmas Wreath Decoration

WREATHI’ve had this wreath hanging outside my cubicle all month (yes I do have a day job), so I thought I’d share it with you.  It’s a video game themed Christmas wreath I ordered on a Web site called ThinkGeek.com.  Click here for a closer shot.

I was ordering some Christmas presents online on this ThinkGeek site and saw this and had to have it.  Plus I needed to spend a little more money to get free freight on my order, so why not?  From the bottom left, going clockwise we have a Galaga ship, Pac-Man cherries, Dragon Quest Slime, 1up mushroom with a Santa hat, a rupee from Zelda, a game controller, and a Tetris block.  The shapes are changed slightly as to not infringe on any copyrights, but they’re close enough.

The best part is it lights up!  The yellow coins have flashing LED lights in them that you can turn off and on.  Only problem is they are hard to see at work with all the fluorescent lights.  But you can kind of see them in the picture if you look carefully.  Only problem is that the wreath is just made of foam, but it was only 20 bucks so it’s not too bad.  Here’s a bigger picture.  Merry Christmas!

  1. Neat! I see the lights in the top left, top right and bottom left of the wreath in the bigger picture.

Have you seen what it looks like in the dark?
