Sonic Drive In has Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Themed Kids Meal Toys

For a limited time, Sonic Drive In restaurants now have toys based on Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam in their kids meals. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam is a 3DS RPG featuring a crossover between the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series, and it was released earlier this year.  Click here for more details on the toys featured in this promotion.

I couldn’t find any good pictures of the toys online, but I did stop by a nearby Sonic the other day and picked up a kid’s meal myself to see what they had. I don’t know how long the promotion will last, or how long it’s been going on, so you may want to hurry if you want any of the toys.  According to the little paper that came with the toy I got, there are five toys in all.  A sticker book with a papercraft Princess Peach, a “Bros. Attack” spinning top, a “dashing” Mario that you can ram into Bowser, a King Goomba bobblehead thing, and a Question Block with power-ups inside.  Here is a picture of the paper I got with the toy that shows all of them.

The toy I got was the King Goomba. He looks boxy in the picture because in the game, you battle giant papercraft versions of Mario enemies.  The Goomba body and legs of the toy are made out of plastic.  The head wiggles around like a bobblehead and the feet have wheels underneath so it can roll around.  The purple stand and crown are paper punch outs that you fold and put into slots on the Goomba.  Here is a picture:

And that’s all for now. Kind of weird that a “Sonic” restaurant is doing “Mario” toys, huh?  Ha ha!  –Cary

  1. Our Sonic had the Power-Up Box. It was kinda lame and I could tell the kids were disappointed. Too bad they couldn’t come up with better toy ideas.
