Tiny Biomes (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X/S, PC)
This game reminds me a bit of one of my favorite classic puzzlers: Pipe Dream. Make the water (or lava) flow through all the destinations by rotating pieces of pipe in three biomes: Forest, Volcano, and Winter, with 50 levels in each biome. Tiny Biomes is available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
First you’ll choose one of the three biomes. Each one gets slightly progressively harder, but not by much. Move the highlighter to each square with the D-Pad and rotate the pipes with the button. When the liquid is in all spots, you pass the level. If you can do it in a certain number of moves, you’ll earn stars. Although the stars don’t do anything and you can still pass the level no matter how long it takes or how many moves you use, so it really doesn’t matter unless you just want that challenge. Really the only problem that I had with this game is that it’s a bit short and easy. I was able to finish it in about an hour and a half, with each biome lasting about 30 minutes. And there is no sense of urgency like in Pipe Dream, which made that one more fun.
Kid Factor:
Nothing violent or objectionable here. Reading skill isn’t needed, and Tiny Biomes is rated E for Everyone.
