Pets Survivors (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X/S, PC)

Here’s another Vampire Survivors clone where you shoot enemies as pets with guns.  I think the same company who made Dagger Froggy also made this one because that frog is in this game, too.  Pets Survivors is available on all current consoles but reviewed on PS4 here.

Start out by first selecting your character.  At first you can only play as a dog or a cat, but as you play you’ll earn coins you can use to purchase other animals and weapons.  Different animals have different stats, like health, speed, etc.  And the guns you can equip them with can do things like shoot sprays of bullets, fire piercing shots, etc.  You can then play a ten minute round or infinite, and choose which land to be in.  You can get different areas by beating bosses.  You can also choose to aim manually or automatically.

And the game is pretty much Vampire Survivors.  Waves of enemies will approach for you to avoid and shoot, like slimes, stone monsters, exploding mushrooms, and more.  Defeated enemies will leave behind gems and coins.  Use the coins in the shop to buy new pets and guns, and the gems will level you up.  When you reach a new level, you can pick from one of four perks to help you out, such as higher attack power, speed, and much more.  When you get hit you’ll lose a heart, and lose them all and its Game Over.  You can also unlock new pets by finishing levels, too.  Aside from shooting, each pet has a limited special skill, such as the frog throwing daggers.  It’s an all right game if you just REALLY like the gameplay of Vampire Survivors

Kid Factor:

Pets Survivors is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence.  Pixel animals use guns to shoot cartoony monsters, and when they run out of energy they just fall over.  Reading skill is helpful for the text, but not necessary just to play.
