Two more of SNK’s pre-Neo-Geo arcade classics are now available to download as PS Minis for play on the PS3 and PSP. This time we have the side scrolling brawler Gang Wars and the top down shooter Time Soldiers.

Have you ever played a game that ended up being way better than what you thought it would be? It’s such a pleasant surprise, isn’t it? Well that’s exactly what happened when I tried Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure. Play as Raphael, a young chap who lives in Paris, France. Raphael’s secret is that he’s actually the heroic thief, Phantom R. As a thief, he steals artifacts form the Louvre art museum only to return them a day or so later. He does this to uncover the whereabouts of his missing father, and he’ll end up unraveling an even bigger mystery in the process! Gameplay is a lot like the Professor Layton games, except for instead of solving boring math problems, you’ll tackle fun music and rhythm based mini-games!
Just in time for the new computer animated summer movie comes the Ice Age Artic Games! The herd has come across a bountiful treasure, but the scurvy ice pirates have their eye on it, too. And the only way to settle who gets the prize is to play a round of Artic Games. Compete in nearly a dozen prehistoric winter sports on the Wii, Xbox 360 Kinect, 3DS, and DS (Wii version reviewed here).

This downloadable 3DS eShop game is a crazy mix of old school beat ‘em up and LCD Game & Watch style action.
When I was a kid in the early 80’s, going to the arcade was a family event, and we each had our favorites. My dad would make a bee-line for Centipede, my mom would hop on over to Frogger, and I’d zip on over to the Pac-Man machine, of course. But Frogger was one of the few games to lure me away from the Pac, if only for a little bit. Now you can play yet another Frogger remake on Wii, PS3, and 360, but luckily this is a classic update done RIGHT! (360 version reviewed here).
