Zombie! Zombie! Zombie! (iPad)

ZOMBIE_BOXZombie! Zombie! Zombie! (or Zx3 for short) is an action puzzle game for iOS devices (reviewed on iPad here). While it may sound like a zombie puzzle iPad game I reviewed last year called Containment, Zx3 is actually its own beast. Crowds of zombies approach from the top of the screen down to the bottom, where your survivors are. Tap on three of the same kind of zombie to clear them out. The three that you clear out will form a triangle. Zombies inside this triangle will be defeated, too. Try to make big triangles to defeat larger groups of zombies and boost your score. Survive waves to make it to the next round, but if the zombies defeat all of your survivors at the bottom of the screen, it’s Game Over!

Regular Show: Ghost Toasters (iPad)

REGULAR_BOXFor the week of Halloween, we’re going to celebrate here at GamerDad with some spooky kid-friendly iPad games! The first is based on one of my favorite Cartoon Network TV programs: Regular Show. In the game, Mordecai and Rigby are horsing around while driving the park golf cart when they crash into the hot dog stand. The impact sends hot dogs with a special ghostly sauce into the graveyard, awakening thousands of ghosts that threaten to invade the park. Luckily the hot dog vendor gives our two heroes special ghost weapons to stop the spirits from taking over their park. Ghost Toasters is available for iOS devices, but reviewed on iPad here.

GOAT_BOXNow this game looks like my cup of tea, but since my friend Leroy is the Steam PC expert, I had him review this one, too. I just might have to make a trip to his house sometime to play it (or I could download it myself). You know you want to read a review about a game starring a goat, right? Yeah, you do!

WIPEOUT_BOXThe popular TV obstacle course game show (is it even still on?) is back in video game form for the fourth time! The previous games kind of ‘wiped out’ so to speak, but they may have hit the right mark with this one. Not only does this entry have better controls and endless amounts of obstacles and courses, but now you can create your own challenges, too! It’s available for 3DS, Wii, Wii U, and 360, but reviewed on 3DS here.

Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness (PS3)

D2_BOXDisgaea is kind of the flagship series for game maker NIS. Their newest game, on PS3 for retail and download on PSN, is actually a direct sequel to the first game featuring the returning cast. As opposed to the other sequel which had new characters. So if you enjoyed the madcap adventures of Laharl, Flonne, and all the Prinnies, then you may want to check out this latest entry in the strategy RPG series. Play as the newly appointed demon overlord Laharl as he scours the netherworld looking for any opposing demons trying to usurp his throne! Since Laharl is just a bratty kid, you can bet he has a lot of opposers in the demon world!
