Reader Review: SimCity (PC)

SIMCITY_BOXWhen I was in Middle School or High School (can’t remember), the first SimCity game came out and it was a huge hit. I even remember what the box for the PC game looked like! One of my friends would even save and print out his city layout on printer paper and show them to me at school! Many years later, I bought and downloaded the Super Nintendo version of SimCity, one of the first Virtual Console games available on the Wii. I remembered how addicting it was when I rented it back in the day, so I wanted my younger brother Jeff to experience it, too. He instantly loved it and a few days later, he had bought SimCity 4 for his computer! So since my brother Jeff enjoys SimCity so much, I decided to let him take a stab at reviewing it here!

Reader Review: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD (360)

We all have special memories of games from our childhood. Mine would be arcade classics from the 80’s like Pac-Man, of course. I also share special memories of more contemporary games with my younger brothers, like playing Yoshi’s Island with them. But some special gaming memories are uniquely theirs. Case in point, one of my brother Jeff’s favorite games he played as a kid was Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. I was worried that he was too young for it at the time, but he took to it like a fish to water. So when I learned that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD came out for Xbox LIVE recently, I decided that Jeff was more fitting to write the review of it.

Reader Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 2: Starved for Help (360, PS3, PC)

The Walking Dead is a super popular zombie apocalypse cable TV show (and comic book I recently learned), and TellTale’s game based on The Walking Dead has already sold over a million copies! And that was only the first episode! But now, the second episode is here, so I had my brother Jeff review it, since he knows more about the show and zombies in general than I do. (360 version reviewed here)

Reader Review: Sword Girls (PC)

I felt bad that I wouldn’t be able to post any articles until after next week, because of E3. But luckily, brother Jeff stepped up to the rescue! Jeff has always loved playing cards. Even when he was little bitty, he would get out a regular deck of cards and make up his own games. I soon learned that when I played these cards games with him, there was only one rule that remained steadfast: ‘Jeff always wins!’ As he grew older, he enjoyed playing cards in video games like Pokemon TGC, Yu-Gi-Oh, the card mini-game in Final Fantasy 9, and SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash (I liked that last one as well). Even now, Jeff enjoys challenging his friends with Magic: The Gathering and the World of Warcraft card game. Jeff’s always game for cards, so when I showed him this free-to-play PC game, Sword Girls, he wrote a little mini-review!
