The Amazing Spider-Man (360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, DS)
Just in time for the release of the new reboot movie, The Amazing Spider-Man, comes a new video game. But instead of being based on the plot of the flick, the video game takes place shortly after the events of the film. After Spider-Man defeats the Lizard, other cross-breed mutants escape Oscorp’s labs and start infecting New York. It’s up to Spider-Man to stop them and save the city. Oscorp’s own robots are all about and programmed to destroy all cross-breeds, including Spider-Man, so Peter Parker will have to watch out for them, too! The Amazing Spider-Man is available for all major current video game consoles, but the 360 version is reviewed here.
Madagascar 3 (360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, DS)
DA, DA, DA-DA-DA-DA AFRO CIRCUS. DA, DA, DA-DA-DA-DA AFRO CIRCUS, POLKA-DOT, POLKA-DOT… OK now that I’ve successfully got that stuck in everyone’s head, here’s a review of Madagascar 3, based on the recent CG animated summer movie. Is it a hit or a flop at the Big Top? Read on to find out! (Wii version reviewed here)
Cary’s E3 Universe: Act 1
Oh how cruel am I? I promised that when I came back from E3, I’d have the first of my E3 articles up by June 8. And yet, my first article isn’t about E3 at all! How mean is that? Anyway, we left for LA a day early so that I could take my dad to Universal Studios. We’ve always talked about doing that, so this year we decided to just go ahead and go! (And now you know why I call it “Cary’s E3 UNIVERSE”) So here’s what we did there!
Happy Feet Two (360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, DS)
Right in time for the release of the new animated movie comes Happy Feet Two: the video game Help Mumble the penguin and his best friend Ramon find Mumble’s son and save the penguin colony by gathering up a large group of penguins to heat up the cold arctic dance floor. Happy Feet Two is available for all the major current game consoles, but the 360 version is reviewed here.
MST3K vs. Gamera
What’s this? Two movie themed blogs right in a row? Very unusual, I know, but I just got through watching one of the best MST3K DVD collections yet! It’s called MST3K vs. Gamera and contains all five of the Gamera movies that Joel and the ‘Bots made fun of all in one nice tin holder! So I wanted to talk about it a bit, plus I recently watched a new Rifftrax in the theater and wanted to talk about that, too (Rifftrax is the spiritual successor to MST3K). So, why is Gamera fighting MST3K? And just who the heck is Corn Job?!? All these questions and more will be answered if you keep reading!
Cary’s 2011 Summer Movie Roundup
Well summer is winding down; kids will be starting school (and college) in a couple of weeks, so I thought it might be a good time to do my summer movie wrap up for the year. I saw a lot of movies this summer. Usually what I do is just go see the first showing of something early in the morning because the tickets are cheaper. Especially since I don’t go see anything in 3-D anyway, since I’ve been blind in my left eye since birth, I can’t see the 3D effects anyhow. I also like to take my brother Jeff and his friends to these movies, too, because I’m nice like that. So here’s a roundup of all the movies I saw this summer, I guess I should warn you folks that there might be some spoilers here and there, but nothing too bad I don’t think.

Toy Story 3
I love Pixar because I know going in that I’m going to love it, and coming out I always do. Wonderful is the company that always has me walking out of the theater feeling like I’ve just seen the best movie ever. Even if it’s not really true, that’s the feeling these creators give you. Toy Story 3 is no exception. We caught it in 3D and Imax yesterday and easily went through a box of Kleenex.
