My family redecorated the front bathroom in the house a few months ago. And since it’s video game related, I thought I’d share pictures of it with you. It’s Mario themed. You know a character is popular when they get bathroom decorations modeled after them.

Graceful Explosion Machine hearkens back to the days of classic arcade shooters like Defender. Pilot your spacecraft around continuously looping screens as you shoot everything that moves. When there’s nothing left to shoot, you win and move onto the next level. The game is available to download on PS4, Switch, and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
Slime-san (Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC)

A giant worm has swallowed poor Slime-san, and now you must help him escape before being digested in this super challenging 2-D platformer. Very similar to other titles like Super Meat Boy, Slime-san is available to download on Nintendo Switch and PC (later on PS4 and Xbox One), but reviewed on Switch here.

One of the best and most well-known arcade game makers of the 80’s and 90’s is Namco. They’re responsible for classics like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, and many more, and that’s one of the reasons why they’re my favorite video game company. I’m always excited when they come out with a new Namco Museum collection of old arcade games, and now there’s one on the Nintendo Switch you can download!
Adventure Time Run: The Ooo Expedition (iOS, Android)

Adventure Time is one of Cartoon Network’s most popular animated programs (is it even still on?), and out of all the cartoon licensed games out there, I think I’ve reviewed more Adventure Time ones than any other in the 20 plus years I’ve been doing this! Many of these titles imitate other genres of games, like point and click adventures, card games, 2-D platformers, top-down Zelda-like quests, and more! And some, especially on tablets, are just spinoffs of existing games, like Adventure Time Ski Safari. And now the show is getting the Temple Run treatment. Adventure Time Run is available to download free-to-play on iOS and Android devices (reviewed on iPad here).
The Fighters of ARMS

ARMS is Nintendo’s newest fighting game on Switch. Originally I wasn’t going to get this game for a while, but I found a sale where it was ten dollars off. Doesn’t sound like much, but considering Nintendo’s first party games hardly ever go on sale, I decided to take the plunge. ARMS has a lot of interesting fighters, so I’ll do what I usually like to do with these kinds of games. Here’s a blog about each of the ARMS fighters! Nintendo has said that more will show up as DLC, so I also posted my own ideas for original fighters and existing characters, too!
Collar X Malice (Vita)

Outside of the Phoenix Wright games (which I consider to be more of a point and click adventure), I have never tried a game in the ‘visual novel’ genre. So when Aksys sent me a code for Collar X Malice on the Vita for review, I decided I’d finally give this type of game a try. In the game, a terrorist organization has already killed several police officers in a Japanese city, and now the government has quarantined the area and given all citizens over a certain age a gun so they can defend themselves. This has put the whole city in disarray. You read the story from the point of view of a female Japanese police officer. Shortly into the story, she gets kidnapped by the organization and is forced to wear a special collar so they can monitor her actions. If she speaks of the incident to the police, the bad guys could remotely inject a lethal poison from the collar into her. She also finds a secret detective group who wants to help her, but with her life on the line, who can she really trust? That’s what you’ll have to find out!
Infinite Minigolf (PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)

Zen Studios is best known for their Zen Pinball/Pinball FX series of video pinball tables, and now they’re taking a swing at another game where you hit a tiny ball down a hold. Introducing Infinite Minigolf, where you can play 9 hole single player tournaments, compete against local and online players, and even design and share your own courses! It’s available to download for nearly all the current game consoles, but reviewed on PS4 here.
