Final Smash amiibo

So the last three DLC Super Smash Bros. amiibo figures have finally been released.  Nintendo did a little something different with these because they made two of each, with a character having two different outfits.  Luckily I managed to get them all, so let’s see what they look like!

Here they are in the boxes.  There’s Corrin from Fire Emblem, Cloud from Final Fantasy, and Bayonetta from, well, Bayonetta.  The Player One costumes are on the top and the Player Two costumes are on the bottom.

And here they are out of the boxes.  Like most of the other Smash Bros. amiibo figures, they are very well made with lots of detail.

I really can’t tell you much about the Corrin figures since I don’t play Fire Emblem games.  Player One is male and Player Two is female.  Both have swords with a weird pink gunk around them.  I like the Player Two one better but her sword is a bit more ‘bendy.’

Cloud’s Player One outfit is from Final Fantasy 7, but I’m not sure where his second outfit is from.  Maybe that FF7 movie or that Crisis Core game I never played.  I kind of wish they would’ve used another FF character to be in Smash Bros., like my favorite Terra from FF6. However as much as I hate to admit it, I guess Cloud is the most representative of the series.

I actually like the Player Two Bayonetta more than the original one because the figure has cool red ribbon things coming out of her head.  Bayonetta is a good action game, but I stopped playing the first one because it got too violent for my tastes, plus I didn’t like the fact that you fought angels in the games.  Just didn’t sit right with me.

And that’s all the amiibo!  The Player One outfits were easy to get, but I didn’t like how the Player Two figures were exclusive to different stores.  Made them harder to get.  I was able to get the Cloud one pretty easily since I could reserve it at GameStop with the others.  And a dear relative got me the Bayonetta one.  But I had to import Corrin and I didn’t like having to pay more money for it that way.  But I have every single amiibo released thus far, so I didn’t want to have an incomplete collection just yet!

Even though I don’t like how Nintendo has been re-releasing a lot of their Wii U games on the Switch, I kind of hope they do re-release Super Smash Bros. on the Switch with all the DLC.  I never got any of the DLC on the Wii U or 3DS versions, so I’d be happy to try them out on a possible Switch version.

And that’s all for now!  In a couple of weeks or so, I’ll post another article with some other amiibo figures I got recently.  This time featuring some squid kids and a group of walking plant things.  Later!  –Cary
