Watch GamerDad On TV
As mentioned yesterday, in the post directly below this one, GamerDad was interviewed and filmed about the Manhunt 2 controversy. We have the YouTube story. Click MORE to watch how it all turned out!
I’m pleased with the tone. The reporter was polite and open-minded, not a gamer himself but he presented him and their goals with the story accurately. Linda, in particular, likes the way our house looks and, of course, that’s very important.
Astute viewers will notice that I’m not playing Manhunt 2 in the footage. My copy hasn’t arrived yet and I didn’t have time to hit a store to get one – and they didn’t have one either. So, yes, that’s Resident Evil IV for the Wii, but the point is still made and the rest of the footage is Manhunt 2 and, in my opinion, artfully edited in case kids are watching.
Speaking of which, my kids were thrilled to see me on the big screen (I’ve done this kind of thing before but this is the first time they’ve seen it on the big TV) and Maggie (7) said:
“Dad! You’re famous now! Thank you so much because now I’m famous too! I can’t wait to go to school tomorrow!”
Hmmm, hopefully her classmates are local news viewers.

I know that the original ‘Manhunt’ encouraged more fantastic kills, but I’m not entirely sure this is the case with the sequel. Could I get a confirmation?

Not surprisingly, like the first, the hype is supposedly much more interesting than the game.

Well, we haven’t played it, but reviewers are saying there is. They’re called “executions” and basically the better you are at pushing buttons or waggling the Wii-mote the more extreme the kill.

Yeah, they are. The more brutal the kills, the more points you get. It also determines which ending you get.
