Have an Egg-cellent Mario Easter!
I found some pretty cool Mario related Easter stuff at the store, so I thought I’d share them with you all here. So let’s go!
The first thing I found was this Easter egg hunt kit. It comes with 16 plastic eggs with a piece of Tootsie Roll style candy in each one. And they are plastic wrapped with Mario characters. I think this was out last year as well, but I didn’t see it until this year. It’s interesting that they are using Donkey Kong’s new design here. He’s not even on the eggs!
And here are all the different eggs you get. Of course there are some repeats, but they are not even. Like there are less eggs with the princesses on them, for instance.
Another thing I found was Kinder Eggs with Mario prizes. They’re not necessary just for Easter, but I bet these sell a lot during the season. I got the four different colors, not that it matters.
And here’s a closer shot of one of the eggs. Half of the egg has this gross cream stuff with little hazelnut chocolate things in them. Not sure how you’re supposed to eat them.
The other half has the prizes. Here are the four I got. Two were little zipper pull things. You had to put the sticker on yourself, though. Not sure why they couldn’t be bothered to do that in the factory. It’s a bummer I got two of the same kind of toy, but at least one of them is my favorite Mario character, Toad. Next is a little plastic set of blocks with a mushroom. I think you can use this to build yourself a playset with other prizes. Last is a Boo clip. You can only clip a couple of pieces of paper with it, though, as it’s very small. Maybe it’s supposed to be a bookmark? At any rate, the toys are still cool and at least functional. Also shows promise that there are probably lots of different toys in those eggs! Included with the prizes are instructions for putting them together as well as a QR code you can use to take pictures of yourself with Mario themed frames.
Last is some Easter stuff I didn’t buy, but I took pictures of them on the shelf. Lots of cool stuff!
And here’s some more. I especially like the mushroom basket.
They had other Easter stuff, too, like Minecraft and Hello Kitty and Bluey, etc. Anyway, that’s all for now! Happy Easter! –Cary
