Quack Quack Attack (Mobile)
Aliens are invading and it’s up to a group of ducks to lay explosive eggs on them! Quack Quack Attack is a free-to-play game that’s like a cross between Peggle and Puzzle Bobble. It’s available on mobile devices but reviewed on iPad here.
In each stage, you’ll have your ducks perched on a telephone wire at the top of the screen, while round one-eyed aliens approach from the bottom. If they reach the top, your telephone wire will lose energy and if it breaks, your ducks will fly away and you’ll have to start the stage again. To defend yourself, you’ll need to use the touch screen and aim to drop eggs on the aliens to defeat them. The eggs will bounce around before reaching the bottom, and some ducks have special exploding eggs with different properties. Clear out all the aliens to move onto the next level.
When you beat levels, you’ll earn rewards like eggs with new ducks inside, or coins. Use the coins to level up your ducks. You’ll have to do this fairly early on as the aliens spike in strength quickly, and before long (probably not even into the 10th stage), you’ll have to pay real money to really power up your ducks enough to progress). Because of this and the fiddly nature of leveling up, I lost interest in this one pretty quickly.
Kid Factor:
Ducks poop out exploding eggs and defeated aliens just disappear in a puff of smoke. Reading skill is needed for the text and parental supervision is recommended for the in-game purchases.
