Reader Review: Dark Legends (PC)

Dark Legends is an online MMO available for the PC and mobile devices. Since I’m not quite an expert on these kinds of games, I’ve enlisted my brother Jeff again to guest write this one (PC version reviewed here).

Reader Review: The Walking Dead: Episode 1: A New Day (360, PS3, PC)

Zombies are super popular right now. They’re in all sorts of movies, both new and old. And there are tons of zombies in video games, from Resident Evil to Dead Rising. Even TV shows are getting into the zombie craze. One of the most popular of these shows is cable channel AMC’s The Walking Dead. Now TellTale Games has combined the TV show and video games with their Walking Dead episodic point-and-click adventure downloadable for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Me personally, I don’t know anything about The Walking Dead. But my brother Jeff loves the TV show and zombie stuff in general, so I let him have a go at reviewing this one (360 version reviewed here).

One of the most intense titles in the Metal Gear game series: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, is about to get more ‘in-your-face’ in 3D on the Nintendo 3DS handheld. My brother Jeff is a Metal Gear Solid fanatic, so he gets the honor of doing a reader review. So here’s his take on Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

Reader Review: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PS3, 360)

One of Konami’s most recognized and successful game series, Metal Gear Solid, was a major player in contributing to the stealth game genre. Now you can enjoy three of the games in the series in HD with the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. I’m not an expert on Metal Gear games, but my brother Jeff loves them, so I had him do a quick review of this classic compilation (360 version reviewed here)

BlizCon 2011 – KidReport

Just a few short weeks ago, we sent our kid reporter on the scene (well, teenager now) to make his annual pilgrimage to BlizzCon (with his mom, of course).  Here’s what he thought of the action…

On October 21-22, 2011, Anaheim, California was flooded with Blizzard fanatics from around the world, there to see Blizzard’s world renowned convention: BlizzCon! Every year thousands of people around the globe gather in the Anaheim Convention Center for a sneak peak at what Blizzard is engaged in at the time, complete with panels, demos, and free stuff. I was among the crowd, weaving my way through the masses, toward the convention center, speculating about the new World of Warcraft expansion that I had heard nothing about yet.

Reader Review: Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (PS3, 360)

The original Dead Rising zombie game starred photojournalist Frank West, but the sequel featured a new main character. But if you missed good ol’ Frank from the first game, well, you’re in luck. Just in time for the month of Halloween it’s Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It’s the same game as before, but now you can play as Frank West and take pictures. My brother and Dead Rising fan, Jeff Orth, will be guest reviewing this one today (360 version reviewed here).

Reader Review: Wizardry DLC: Shadow of the Red Sister (PS3)

Recently I got a chance to review Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, a downloadable title for PS3. I knew going into the review that it was based on an old PC RPG, but I didn’t think much of it. I even wondered why XSEED would even release it in the US. But now I know why. An amazing thing happened after I posted the review: I got a TON of comments from Wizardry enthusiasts! When I got an opportunity to review some downloadable content for Wizardry on the PS3, I knew I wasn’t fit to review it. So I decided to have a Wizardry fan and online friend Tami B. take a stab at it. So here is her review of Wizardry’s DLC, Shadow of the Red Sister.

BlizzCon 2010 – Kid Report

For the past few years, we’ve sent our very own Aiden (and his mom) out to cover BlizzCon, the gaming convention of all things Blizzard, for GamingWithChildren. BlizzCon 2010 was held just last month, and here’s what Aiden had to day about the event.

Reader Review: Dead Rising 2 (Xbox 360, PS3)

Just in time for Halloween comes the sequel to Dead Rising. This time, instead of taking over a shopping mall, the undead have overrun the fictional Fortune City, a Vegas lookalike. Just as in the first game, you can pick up nearly anything and use it as a weapon against the droves of zombies. And now you can play online and play games on a pretend zombie reality TV show! Definitely more campy than scary. My brother Jeff is such a Dead Rising fan, I thought I’d have him take a stab at reviewing it. So here’s high school senior Jeff Orth’s review of Dead Rising 2! (Xbox 360 version reviewed here)

Battlefield: Bad Company – Reader Review

Reader reviews are from readers here at GamerDad. Many of them are written by kids under 15 and that makes them a valuable insight into how kids really think about games. So, without further ado, here’s Vincent’s (13) take on this Mature Teen rated wargame:
