Link the Slug (iPad)
FlowDoku (iPad)
FlowDoku is basically Sudoku without the numbers. It’s available for Android and iOS devices (played on iPad here). In Sudoku, you must fill rows, columns, and squares with numbers from 1 to 9, but each number can only appear once in each row, column, and square. In FlowDoku, you can only have certain shape patterns in each row, column, and square. Like three blue squares, two orange triangles, and one yellow circle for instance. And the same shapes have to be next to each other, too. You can see how the pattern works at the bottom of the screen.
Disney Infinity (PS3, Wii U, 360, 3DS, Wii)
Recently a report went out saying that Skylanders is the top selling action figure line here in the US. Now Disney wants of piece of the action, too! So here comes Disney Infinity, a video game action figure combo where you place popular Disney character figures on a stand and then you can play as them in the Disney Infinity game! It’s available for nearly all the current popular game consoles, but the PS3 version is reviewed here.
DuckTales: Remastered (PS3, Wii U, 360, PC)
Zorbit’s Math Adventure (iPad)
School is starting soon, and now you can give your young space cadet a rocket boost in preschool math skills with Zorbit’s Math Adventure for iOS devices (played on iPad here). Help the young alien Zorbit and his friends practice early math fundamentals as they help Zorbit collect Power Stars so he can have enough fuel to go to a brand new planet: Earth! Your preschooler will hone counting skills, number and shape recognition, size and direction comparisons, and more!
Phineas & Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff (Wii U, Wii, 3DS, DS, 360)
In Disney Channel’s hit cartoon series, Phineas and Ferb, two boys (the title characters), try and cram as much outlandish fun as they can in the summer break before school starts. Now you and your kids can have one last summer bash with the gang and help them find artifacts for their backyard Museum of Cool Stuff (Wii version reviewed here).
The Fighters of Dragon’s Crown (PS3, Vita)
One of the games I got recently was Dragon’s Crown on the PS3. It seems like it would probably be a better fit on the Vita, but since I only have a PS3, I’ll just be happy with that version! I thought it might be fun to write a little bit about the characters you can control in the game, so here’s a short blog about the fighters you can play as. I was in a silly mood when I wrote this, so be warned!
Pac-Man Dash (iPad)
Many popular video game characters have jumped on the continuously running game genre so prevalent on the mobile gaming platforms. Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic Dash), and Rayman (Rayman’s Jungle Run), to name a few. Now Pac-Man is taking a bite out of the dash and run gameplay concept with Pac-Man Dash for iOS devices (played on iPad for this review). The game is also based on the new computer animated cartoon on Disney XD: Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures!
