Giant bugs are invading Earth and it’s up to you to stop them! Earth Defense Force 2025 is the latest in the series of video game third person sci-fi giant bug shooters (reviewed on PS3 here). Pick a class of defenders like the Ranger or Wing Diver and venture into a slew of single player missions, or work together with up to four others online to complete objectives.

Get ready for crazy artic bowling with PB the polar bear and his butler friend J the penguin (get it, PB & J?). Polar Bowler, downloadable on Android and iOS devices (reviewed on iPad here), takes the knock down the pins approach of bowling and ices it over with lots of obstacles and courses to navigate. This isn’t your standard straight lane, ten frame bowling game here!

Cut the Rope is a popular casual game most prominent on tablets with touch screens, and has spawned sequels and spin-offs as well as toys, key chains, and other products. It’s almost as famous as Angry Birds. And now you can play Cut the Rope on your 3DS featuring three titles: the original, Cut the Rope: Experiments, and Cut the Rope: Time Travel. It’s three games in one!
Globlins (iPad)

Globlins is a blob popping puzzle game available to download for iOS and Google Play. Why are you popping one-eyed, little smiling boogers? Who knows? It’s just fun. In each level, Globlins are arranged in a field and when you tap on them with your finger, they’ll either grow or pop, depending on how big they are. Pop them all to complete the level, but it’s not that easy.

Yumi’s Odd Odyssey (3DS)

Natsume is mostly known for their Harvest Moon faming simulations, but they’ve published quite a few fishing games, too. Such as the Reel Fishing titles and the unique River King fishing RPG series. Their newest game, Yumi’s Odd Odyssey, available for download on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, is a fishing…2-D platformer?!? Yup, that’s right. Actually, Yumi’s Odd Odyssey is not that new of a game. It originated way back on the 16-bit Super Famicom in Japan, and has received a few updates since then and has gained a bit of notoriety among the import-savvy crowd. But this is the first time it’s been officially brought to the US.

Reader Review: The Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville (PC)

Sugar, spice, and everything nice. Mix in a little Chemical X and you’ve got the recipe for a hit cartoon show that was super popular on Cartoon Network for quite a while. Even though it’s not on anymore, you can still catch episodes of The Powerpuff Girls on the Boomerang cable channel. And they recently had a TV special a few weeks ago, too. And they’re still going strong with a new PC game that my friend Leroy reviewed here. Check it out!
