Me and You Love the Wii U
Pokémon Easter Egg Decorating Kit
Pokémon has always been popular, but in the past year or so, it’s had a resurgence in popularity thanks to the mobile game Pokémon GO, and successful new titles in the franchise like Pokémon Sun and Moon. So because of that, here I present to you, the Pokémon Easter Egg Decorating Kit! I saw it at the store and just had to write about it. I could’ve sworn I wrote about the same thing a long time ago, but I couldn’t find an article about it so I either must’ve imagined it or it was such a long time ago that it’s not on the Internet anymore.
Care For Our World (iPad)
Last year I reviewed a game called Buddy & Me, a downloadable 2-D continuous runner for Wii U and mobile devices. The charming hand-drawn visuals in the game made it look like a children’s picture book come to life. Ironically, the next game the makers of Buddy & Me have made really is a children’s book! Care For Our World was originally an award-winning children’s book, and just in time for Earth Day, now it’s an app you can download and read on the iPad!
A local GameCon for charity (Boardgames)
I attended a local charity game convention Saturday, I thought I’d make a brief post as it may inspire others to do the same. In brief, I had a good time teaching beginner games to a host of new gamers. The star of my day was a 5 player game of the AEG rerelease of The Captain is Dead. A close second place was repeated plays of Escape: The Curse of the Temple with some brand-new to gaming sophomores.
The local game shop, The Sage’s Shoppe (complete with extra letters) paired with a couple gamer high school teachers to host an all-day gameathon in order to raise money for the school’s summer backpack program. Low income kids often have their only decent meal of the day at school, so they are given backpacks full of food for the weekends so they can have a good meal on Saturday and Sunday, too. The summer program attempts to help with this over the summer months when school is not in session.

G.P. the GamerPuppet Unboxes the Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Storybook Edition
Hey there! G.P. the GamerPuppet here! How long has it been? Like…TWO YEARS?!? Anyway, for Christmas, Cary got the Odin Sphere Left…luft…Leifthrasir (my gosh why is that so hard to spell, much less pronounce) Storybook Edition. It’s the special edition of the re-release of Odin Sphere on the PS4, and it comes with lots of neat goodies. So Cary had me unbox it to show you all what’s in it!
Yarn Poochy Amiibo
Yoshi’s Woolly World was one of the best games on the Wii U in 2015. And now it’s on the 3DS, too. They added a few new features to the 3DS version, but not enough to make me want to buy it again. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED the game on the Wii U, but I just didn’t see the need to buy it again. At first I thought I’d have to, since the 3DS version also comes packed with a Yarn Poochy amiibo. But luckily, I found out that I could just buy the Poochy amiibo separately, so I just did that. So here are some pictures if you’re interested.
The Games of Atari Flashback Classics vol. 2, Part 2
We’ll wrap up this presentation of the games in Atari Flashback Classics vols. 1 and 2 by looking at the rest of the 2600 games on vol. 2. Like last time, I’ll only go over each game briefly, because there are so many games here. And also because I don’t have as many good memories playing 2600 games as a kid because our first gaming systems in our house were an Apple computer and an Atari 5200.
The Games of Atari Flashback Classics vol. 2, Part 1
I just love classic arcade game collections, so when I got Atari Flashback Classics vols. 1 and 2 on the PS4, I wanted to go over which games were on them here. Earlier this week we went over the games on volume 1, and now we’ll do it again with volume 2. Just like before, I’ll split this into two parts. Today we’ll go over the arcade games in volume 2, as well as the 2600 ports of those arcade games, so I don’t have to repeat myself. And then tomorrow we’ll go over the rest of the 2600 games.
The Games of Atari Flashback Classics vol. 1, Part 2
So this time we’ll go over the rest of the 2600 games in Atari Flashback Classics vol. 1. They did a pretty decent job with the presentation for these. You can view the box art and original instructions for each game. And when you start, you’ll see a replica of the Atari 2600 on the bottom area of the screen so you know what buttons to push if you want to change game modes and such. But I wish they would’ve gone the extra mile like how Activision Anthology did on the PS2. In that one, you had all those features listed above, plus you could view TV commercials, earn virtual patches, and even listen to 80’s music while you play. I really liked that collection because of that, and the fact that Activision’s 2600 games were better overall.
