30th Anniversary Capcom Character Encyclopedia (Book)
Game maker Capcom has created some of the most memorable and likable characters in video game history, many of which have starred in several comic books, cartoons, and even Hollywood movies! If you’re a Capcom fan like me, then you’ll want to check out the 30th Anniversary Capcom Character Encyclopedia. It’s a hardcover book with 200 of Capcom’s most famous (and not so famous) heroes and villains. Everyone from Ada Wong and Amaterasu, to Zack & Wiki and Zero! Each page features a character with artwork, a bio, and other interesting tidbits. Let’s take a look at a few of the pages and see some of my favorite characters!
Cary’s Top Five Favorite Phoenix Wright Characters
The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game series is my favorite series on the DS. The newest in the saga: Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies is out now this week on the 3DS eShop. I’m a little sad that it’s not getting a retail version, but if digital is the only way that Capcom could release it in the US and still make money, then I’ll happily download it that way! Just need to get me a Nintendo Points card! Anyway, Phoenix Wright games are like point and click adventures where you search crime scenes to find clues and evidence, and then use what you find in court to catch witnesses telling lies. One of the best things about these games is the cast of colorful and fun characters, so in honor of the release of the newest game, here are my top five favorite Phoenix Wright characters!
Top Five Zelda Remakes that Cary Thinks Should Be Made
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD was just recently released for Wii U, and it’s a pretty darn nifty remake, too. It’s just another good example of why I still like the GameCube better than the Wii. And it’s great that so many more people are going to finally be able to enjoy this game, since a lot of folks shunned the original release because of the cartoony graphics. Which is a shame because it’s one of the most visually stunning Zelda games out there. It’s also a pretty special game for GamerDad.com, too, because if I’m not mistaken, the original Wind Waker was the first game that was reviewed on the site! I didn’t review it, as I discovered the site a couple of months after it had started, though. Anyway, Wind Waker HD got me to thinking about other Zelda games that should be remade or re-released into collections of sorts, so here are my top five Zelda games I want remade! But be warned, some of my choices you might disagree with!
Ghostly Halloween Fun!
Cary’s Top Five Video Game Clowns
The late summer, early fall time is what I like to call ‘fair and circus season.’ You don’t see them much anymore, but used to around this time of year, I would always see little travelling circuses and carnivals set up in the parking lots and open fields around town. Plus it’s also the time of year that the Texas State Fair opens. And what do you usually see at all these fairs, circuses, and carnivals? Clowns! So in honor of those silly and sometimes scary merrymakers of mirth, here are my top five favorite clowns in video games! Plus, with Halloween coming up, I thought this would be a good idea since some do find clowns frightening.

September 3DS StreetPass Meetup in the North Dallas/Plano, TX Area
It’s that time again. The 3DS StreetPass Meetup for the North Dallas/Plano, TX Area is this next Saturday, Sept. 28. Same time, same place, and you can read more info about it here. The next StreetPass meetup that we’ll have at the end of October will be a big one, because it will happen around the release of a super big 3DS title: Pokemon X & Y! –Cary
A Mappy Cartoon?!?
A couple of months ago, I wrote a blog about a Bravoman cartoon. Bravoman was an old and obscure 2-D platformer by Namco about a super hero who could stretch his limbs. Shifty Look, a Web comic site, made some comics about Bravoman and other Namco characters, and they even made a high quality Web cartoon about Bravoman! I wanted to update you all on that and talk about their new Web cartoon about Mappy, too!
